The project involved the design and construction of an extension to an existing 60-year-old building that was connected to new Micro Engineering Building expanding it to incorporate 11,000m2 of new space and 6,000m2 of refurbished facilities.
The building achieved a 4-Star Green Star Design rating – a first for a building on the University of Sydney’s campus.
The project was completed in two stages separated by a 12 month pause in funding due to the Covid Pandemic. The first stage constructed by Laing O’Rourke and the second completed by FDC.
The laboratory furniture system selected in Space Lab System 6 for its flexibility and serviceability.
