KPD worked closely with Jacobs Architecture to develop a modular laboratory services spine to be easily reconfigured by the client to suit the evolving nature of pharmaceutical research and testing. The system of laboratory services reticulation is totally adjustable and removable without compromising the Physical Containment compliance.

Services spines containing various laboratory gases, several electrical and data circuit points are supplied as mobile components disconnect- able from the ceiling. Services spines and associated benching modules can be configured in any direction or removed all together without the need for construction works nor services trades.

TGA is the national regulator for pharmaceuticals including vaccines. The project was co-incidentally completed during the peak of the Corona Virus lockdowns and national boarder closures. Icon Constructions managed to deliver a state-of-the-art laboratory facility through extremely challenging times. Furniture systems where delivered preassembled and simply plugged into the ceiling virtually eliminating site installation lead-times. A testament to the adaptability of the furniture systems.
