The $200 million South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), South Australia’s flagship health and medical facility. KPD worked closely with Woods Bagot Architects to develop a unique system of relocatable services spines to enable maximum flexibility for the multidisciplinary facility.
The system was constructed by reconfiguring elements of the KPD SLS system to produce a fully compliant PC2 solution to the design brief. Customised lighting and services solutions were also supplied by KPD and co-ordinated with services trades through Hindmarsh Construction. Located on the New Royal Adelaide Hospital site, the facility comprises of dedicated wet and dry laboratory space, write up / workspace, public space and administration space for the Institute.
